ast-grep

ast-grep is the library that powers Taskless syntax-tree based rules. It performs static analysis by matching against your code’s abstract syntax tree (AST) rather than raw text.

When Taskless generates a rule from a natural language description, the output is an ast-grep compatible YAML rule. This means rules can also be used directly with the ast-grep CLI outside of Taskless.
